Go PHP 5 sets the deadline for Tuesday
The Go PHP 5 campaign has announced that they have now set the deadline for Tuesday and members would now focus developing their future versions of applications for PHP 5 only.
With this, the member projects would stop supporting older versions of PHP in upcoming releases.
Symfony, Typo3, phpMyAdmin, Drupal, Propel, and Doctrine are some of the projects which are supporting this initiative.
Larry Garfield, a co-founder of the Go PHP 5 project spoke about the delays on why few applications today are PHP5 only: “No one’s moving to PHP 5 because no one wants to be first.”
