Meebo makes available ad supported embeddable chat rooms
Meebo is a popular web based application which enables a web user to connect to several instant messaging applications through a web browser itself.
The company has now launched an application-programming interface which makes it easy for third party developers to integrate chat rooms in their web sites.
These chat rooms are supported through online advertising which would generate revenues for the company.
Meebo said that their system would ease the creation and configuration of the chat rooms. Users would be able to integrate them into their own websites and content management systems.
They are also willing to partner with companies to integrate these into their products on a revenue sharing basis.
Piczo, Revision3, RockYou, Social Project and Tagged are some of the networks which have already entered into partnership with them to run these applications on their web services.
