Microsoft to deliver MS Office Service Pack 3 through Microsoft Update service
Microsoft has stated that they would start delivering the controversial Service Pack 3 of their Office 2003 application suite through the Microsoft Update service.
This service pack edition is somewhat controversial as it blocks access to older file formats in the applications. Microsoft claims that this step was taken to enhance the security of the product.
The company has however posted details on how to get rid of this block. The solutions are complicated and can even create bigger problems for the end user.
Microsoft said in a statement that the delivery of this service pack would begin on February 27. A company representative added: “Those customers who have not already installed SP3 and that have chosen to receive updates automatically will start to receive the service pack as early as February 27.”
