FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stockholm, Sweden – January 26, 2008 – Snarb.tk today announced the immediate availability of Cover Stream 1.2, a substantial update to its popular iTunes controller that extends iTunes “Cover Flow” feature to the desktop, giving users a quick and easy way to visually browse through their entire album collection – without switching applications.
A great looking, light-weight frontend to iTunes, Cover Stream blows away the text-list-heavy interface of iTunes 7 and lets you flick through your albums faster, smoother and more easily than in iTunes itself.
When you find what you want, you can pick a song from the selected album in an iPhone-like fashion. Simply click the artwork to flip the album over and reveal its tracks on the back of the cover.
In addition, Cover Stream gives you access to all your iTunes playlists, just as quick and easy. Simply flip the controller over, pick a track or playlist and you’re off.
With global, fully customizable keyboard shortcuts, Cover Stream gives you complete control over iTunes from any application. You can play, pause, skip, rate, adjust sound volume, hide or show iTunes, and much more, without interrupting your workflow.
Track info and album artwork is displayed in a small, floating bezel window whenever you need it. In addition, the dock icon can be set to reflect the album artwork of the song you are currently listening to. Cover Stream also has a status bar item that gives you quick and convenient access to all of its settings and functionality from any application.
Cover Stream 1.2 adds a straight-forward, non-obtrusive Mini Flow mode – ideal for working hours. When running Cover Stream in Mini Flow mode, it works just as in iTunes. When you double-click on an album it starts playing immediately, without the need to first pick a track.
The new version also adds a new status window, with jewelcase artwork, a volume indicator, colored text and other improvements. You can click on the jewelcase to hide and show the controller window, which now also has an option to sort the cover flow by album.
The update also fixes a number of bugs in earlier versions of Cover Stream – most notably, it resolves two potential crashes that some users have experienced. Album titles with diacritic characters are also displayed correctly when flip-browsing.
Cover Stream 1.2 is a recommended update for all users. Please see the Cover Stream forum on our website for a complete change log.
