Microsoft signs deal to help out Samba project
Software giant Microsoft has now signed up a deal with non-profit Protocol Freedom Information Foundation.
This deal is a rare occurrence as the company had been forced to sign it to comply with the sanctions imposed by the European Commission in 2004 for antitrust violations.
This deal signed with Protocol Freedom Information Foundation would see them helping out the developers behind the Samba project.
Andrew Tridgell, creator of Samba spoke on this deal: “The agreement allows us to keep Samba up to date with recent changes in Microsoft Windows, and also helps other Free Software projects that need to interoperate with Windows.”
