Trojan.Qhost.WU targets Google Ads on web pages

Romanian security company BitDefender has alerted about a new Trojan which targets Google ads on web pages.

The company said that the Trojan replaces Google AdSense ads from web pages and replaces them with ads from other services.

Google is unlikely to be in a situation to help the users as the Trojan targets the Host file on the victim’s machine.

BitDefender has named this Trojan Trojan.Qhost.WU and they have said that this Trojan poses a “medium” risk of damage.

Replacing harmless Google powered advertising from web pages with harmful code can lead to more damage to the victim’s machine.
