LinkedIn launches Intelligent Application Platform

LinkedIn has launched its developer’s platform which would enable third party coders to build functionalities on this web based service.

LinkedIn has also launched the beta version of a redesigned home page. This new UI is designed to be more business-minded.

The company said that they want this online destination to be a hub for business information.

Adam Nash, senior product director added: “When we look forward to 2008, we see people and professionals more and more going beyond the connections and actually using LinkedIn to make themselves more productive on a daily basis.”

The company further said that developers can use its APIs to build widgets, or small applications.

They are also going to support Google’s OpenSocial development platform to make these applications compatible with other social networking services.
