Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) alpha 1 is out already
The developers behind the Ubuntu Linux project are working hard on the next release and they have released the first alpha version of Ubuntu 8.04.
The final edition is to be released in April next year. The most recent release was in October.
This next release is pretty crucial for the developers as it would be supported on the desktop for three years and on the server for five years.
The alpha edition is not recommended for use on a production machine and is basically for testers.
It comes with the Xorg 7.3 application which makes it easier for the user to configure graphic settings.
This alpha edition also features new packages merged in from Debian.
