Instacoll launches Live Documents to take on Google Docs
Bangalore based startup Instacoll has announced the launch of their online office productivity suite.
They are also working on launching a desktop version within six months. One of the backers of this company is Sabeer Bhatia who is well know for his involvement in Hotmail now owned by Microsoft.
Instacoll said in a statement that they have been working on collaborative documentation technology for a couple of years. Bhatia said on this latest venture: “It is very similar to what we did with Hotmail 10 years — moving the e-mail to web — we have taken the entire productivity suite and are running it online.”
Their project has been named Live Documents and it comes loaded with enhanced features for working and making changes to documents offline.
Sumanth Raghavendra, co-founder and CEO added on this project launch: “Users have the choice of working on either on the desktop or on the browser. Any changes made on either side are automatically synchronized to ensure the desktop and Web versions are in sync.”
