Flickr Places launched
Yahoo owned photo sharing service Flickr has now launched a new service named Places.
Flickr Places is a set of mapping features which would make it easier for web users to check out photos related to a particular location on the world map.
Kakul Srivastava, senior director of product management at Flickr spoke about Places feature: “It’s a new way to browse what is happening in the world.”
Flickr users would be able to search from more than 100,000 geographic place names to find photos related to that location.
The company plans to add 3,000 to 5,000 new location pages per week in the coming months to make the service more useful to people around the world.
