Google makes it easy for companies to migrate from Outlook to Gmail
Google has now made available an E-mail Migration API to help companies migrate their email system from Outlook to their Gmail service.
A company representative added: “We’ve provided developer documentation and sample code that allows developers to build extremely sophisticated mail migration tools, some of which can be run by administrators to migrate centralized mail and some of which can be run by end-users to migrate mail from the desktop.”
The company already provides free POP and IMAP support on Gmail webmail service.
Google said that their new API would enable system administrators to move e-mail from any system.
They are supporting migration support for applications like Microsoft Outlook calendars, e-mail, and contacts into Google Apps. It can also be migrated to their other packages like Premier, Education, or Partner editions of Google Apps.
