Comcast sued for interfering with file sharing technologies on its network
Jon Hart has filed a lawsuit against the Internet service provider Comcast claiming that the company block customer access to peer-to-peer sites like BitTorrent and Gnutella.
This lawsuit has been filed in the Alameda County Superior Court.
He further said that the company uses software technologies to send hidden messages to computers that are running file sharing applications.
This interferes with the file sharing process causing problems for the end user.
Comcast continues to defend their practice stating: “Comcast does not, has not, and will not block any websites or online applications, including peer-to-peer services. We have a responsibility to provide all of our customers with a good Internet experience and we use the latest technologies to manage our network so that they can continue to enjoy these applications.”
