Database industry giant Oracle Corp has announced that they would be releasing their own virtualization software named Oracle VM.

The company is claiming that this application is up to three times as efficient as competing products.

They are making it available for download for free.

Oracle showcased this new product at the Oracle Open World event in San Francisco.

Virtualization is a hot market today. The technology allows a user to run multiple operating systems on a single machine. No reboots are required to switch from one system to another.

Vmware and Parallels are two other players in this market. Microsoft is also trying to get a piece of this pie.
