Photobucket introduces innovative tagging concept

Online photo sharing service Photobucket has now added a new feature on their service which enables their users to add tags to their photos.

Users would be able to tag specific faces and objects in photos. They would also be able to link these tags to external sites and objects which are relevant to the tagged content.

The company had avoided adding such a feature to the service for fears of spam tags. Looks like they have found a way to keep a control on this problem.

Competing sites like Flickr also allows their users to add tags to the complete photos. To identity objects and people on a picture, they are allowed to put on notes. Photobucket’s new feature is somewhat similar to that.
