Microsoft plans to reignite passion for Windows through massive ad campaign
Realizing the fact that the Longhorn is still quite sometime away, Microsoft has decided to use what they already have in the market to fire up a publicity campaign. Windows XP is a three-year-old product now but the software giant still believes that the Operating System still has enough drooling features to excite the customers.
The campaign is planned to last around 15 months and is planned to showcase everything and anything that Windows Operating System can do. It would also coincide with the 20th anniversary of this world’s most used Operating System for desktop computers. In a statement released yesterday, Senior Vice President Will Poole said: “As we enter the third decade of Windows, the ‘Start Something’ campaign celebrates how people can follow their dreams and pursue what they are passionate about–from creating an in-home music studio to starting a new business or becoming the family photographerâ€.
Market experts believe that this promotion would lead the way to the release of the next generation Operating System from the Microsoft sometime next year. Microsoft is expected to go mega with the marketing of Longhorn and this campaign to be started in around 11 countries is just the beginning of it. Longhorn is due to enter its first beta stage this summer. An updated preview version is also expected to be on display at the upcoming Windows Hardware Engineering Conference in Seattle.
