Vontu picked up by Symantec
Security software maker Symantec has announced that they are now acquiring Vontu which specializes in developing data loss prevention software.
This acquisition deal is worth around $350 million and they are hoping to close the deal by the fourth calendar quarter of 2007.
The deal would however require approval from the regulatory bodies.
Symantec further said that they now aim to enhance their security business with data loss prevention software with the help of this acquisition.
Tom Kendra, group president of the Security and Data Management Group at Symantec added in a statement: “In a business environment that is increasingly competitive, transparent and regulated, companies need confidence that their most valuable asset — information — is safe.”
