Hewlett Packard unveils MediaSmart Server
Hewlett-Packard has announced that their Windows Home Server based product MediaSmart Server is set to be available for pre-order on Amazon.com, Bestbuy.com, Buy.com, Circuitcity.com, and CompUSA.com.
It would then be delivered to the buyers by the end of the current month. They are also planning to have it on sale at other retailing outlets in the coming weeks.
They are offering two editions of the MediaSmart Server: One with 500 GB of storage space while the other would have 1 TB of storage space.
HP is not going to be the only company to offer products based on the Microsoft’s Home Server product. Other companies scheduled to launch their products include Ace Computers, Avantec, PC Club, and Universal Systems.
Microsoft had showcased this new software technology for home users at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January this year.
