OSX.RSPlug.A targets Mac OS X
We usually do not get alerts on Trojan Horses targeting the Apple Mac OS X operating system.
However, security company Intego has issued an alert on one such Trojan Horse which has been designed to target Apple users.
They have named this bug OSX.RSPlug. It acts as a DNS Changer and tries to change the Mac’s Domain Name Server (DNS) address.
The user is lured into installing the hack by inviting him to install a video codec. It has been discovered on several adult websites.
Intego further said that they have updated their virus definitions for the Mac edition software which removes the bug and prevents from future infections.
