Meebo want third party developers to create applications for their platform
Web based Instant Messaging solution provider Meebo is now offering capabilities to third party developers to create applications for their platform.
This is similar to how Facebook enabled third party applications on their service which boosted its popularity on the web.
Meebo service allow web users to stay connected to their friends by connecting to popular IM services through a web browser. They support various protocols including Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Google and Jabber.
They also recently added support for voice and video chat. Now, they are hoping that third party developers would chip in and create more applications and features for the service.
They would be able to create applications in JavaScript or Flash which would use Meebo’s APIs.
