Mac OS X Leopard for $129 this October 26
Apple has confirmed that the rumors were indeed true and they would be releasing the next major update to their operating system project Mac OS X on October 26.
The Leopard release would be sold in a single version for USD 129. Unlike Mac OS X, Windows Vista sells in several variants with varied price points.
Apple added that their online stores are now accepting pre-orders for Mac OS X leopard.
The iPod maker had originally planned to launch the Leopard OS X in June this year. However, the pending launch of the Apple iPhone delayed this update.
Apple had at that time stated that they would ship Leopard in October and they have managed to meet that deadline.
Leopard edition would be the sixth major upgrade to Mac OS X since the first version launch in 2001.
Apple further stated that the server edition of Leopard would ship along with the desktop edition.
