Asus P5E3 Deluxe Motherboard comes with Linux on board!
Asus has impressed with their latest motherboard product. The model is the Asus P5E3 Deluxe and it comes with Linux embedded on it!
This funky motherboard is based on the Intel’s new X38 chipset. Asus is calling their version of this Linux as Asus Express Gate. It is based on the DeviceVM SplashTop Linux desktop.
The interesting aspect is that the Linux comes loaded with useful applications including Firefox and Skype.
So, without even requiring a hard disk with an OS on it, you can just boot into a working Linux environment within seconds…
This could come handy in case of hard disk failure if it can be loaded with data recovery tools!

This is exciting stuff! There have been so many times over the years when a thing like splashtop would have helped me greatly when comp had boot problems (info gathering). Toss on recovery tools and it would be the perfect combination! Sure hope ASUS gets the recovery tools idea and runs with it!
