Internet Explorer 7 now WGA free
Microsoft has practically admitted that they need the support from people who might not be running genuine copies of Windows operating system to maintain the market share of their Internet Explorer web browser.
A company blog post stated that they are now removing the Windows Genuine Advantage validation check from their Internet Explorer 7 web browser which has failed to generate much interest in the market.
Mozilla Firefox seems to be the reason behind this decision. More and more web users are moving on to this free and open source application as it continues to remain more up to date.
For someone running an non validated Windows copy, it becomes a choice between Firefox and Internet Explorer 6 which is technically many generations behind.
There are some more changes applied to the IE7 browser in this latest update. The developers have decided that the menu bar would now remain visible by default. And they are now releasing a MSI installer to make it easier for network administrators to install IE7 in a large network.
