eBay Desktop beta test to be expanded by eBay
Online e commerce giant eBay has announced that they are now going to expand the beta test of their San Dimas application. The application has also been renamed eBay Desktop.
eBay Desktop is a software application designed to enable their customers to interact with the eBay site both offline and online.
The application is currently available to a few selected beta testers. However, now it can be downloaded by any eBay buyer in the USA.
eBay Desktop is developed on the Adobe’s AIR technology which is currently available on both Windows and Mac OS X platform. Linux support is coming soon.
Alan Lewis, eBay Desktop product manager spoke on this new development: “The desktop is interesting again, now that you can do things that go beyond what the browser can do, but leveraging the same technology.”
