Sun to now provide advance notification of software updates
Sun Microsystems has announced that they are now going to issue advance notification of its Java SE (Standard Edition) security updates.
The company is also now going to release updates for all supported Java SE platforms simultaneously.
Sun had been facing criticism for the ways they handled issuing security updates for their softwares.
The company now aims to make it easier for network administrator to apply these updates. Microsoft is one company which has been following a proper process to issue their updates which has made the life of administrators a lot easier.
Sun said that they now plan to issue advance notifications within a week of the actual security patches.
