Firefox 2.0.0.7 released to patch QuickTime bug
Mozilla developers have released an updated Firefox version to patch a QuickTime bug which is still not fixed by Apple.
The latest version now is Firefox 2.0.0.7 and it is now available for download from the Mozilla website.
Existing users having relevant versions would get the patches delivered to them automatically as per their settings.
A Mozilla blogger wrote about this patch release:
This will protect Firefox users from the public critical security vulnerability until a patch is available from Apple.
The blog post further claims that the patched release was shipped within just six days. Early patch releases prevents the hackers from utilizing the security holes due to lack of time to implement the security attack.
