Sun Microsystems to offer Windows Operating System!
Sun Microsystems is now collaborating with its one time rival Microsoft. The company now plans to offer Windows operating system on some of their server products.
This would enable them to retain customers who are not interested in ordering Solaris powered server products.
Sun said that they would start incorporating Microsoft’s Windows Server 2003 software into its x64 servers.
These servers are powered by 64 bit processors from both Intel and AMD. The two companies are going to work together to launch these products within 3 months.
Sun happens to be the world’s No. 3 server seller and this deal is likely to benefit Microsoft in the coming years.
