AVS is a non-proprietary open standard for delivering broadcast content up to HD resolution, and broadband video networking in the mainland China market. The AVS standard is highly optimized for the Chinese market, offering a good balance between video/audio qualities and encoding/decoding efficiency. The reduced complexity of AVS ultimately leads to low cost video/audio encoding/decoding products and solutions. MainConcept is among the first commercial companies to support this important technology for the Chinese market.
