Microsoft settles their legal dispute with Eolas Technologies
Software giant Microsoft has revealed that they have now settled their legal dispute with Eolas Technologies.
The two companies have been fighting a lawsuit related to Eolas patent. Eolas had claimed that Internet Explorer application was infringing on one of their patents related to embedded content.
Eolas had won the initial judgment which awarded them $500 million. Microsoft then applied for further investigation into the patent’s validity.
The two companies then announced in July that they were working on settlements.
They have not revealed the financial aspects of their settlement however.
