Windows Vista Service Pack 1 to come out early next year
Microsoft has finally revealed some information on the upcoming Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
They have now confirmed that the SP1 of Vista would come out in the first quarter of the next year.
The beta version of the Vista SP1 is likely to arrive next month and it is likely to be tested by around 10,000 to 15,000 testers.
Microsoft had however sad news for people expecting to see some new features in SP1. The company specifically stated that SP1 “is not a delivery vehicle for new features”.
Instead, the Vista SP1 is likely to include bug fixes and improvements in performance, reliability, and application compatibility.
Microsoft also promised that the Vista SP1 would not break any application which works correctly on the OS right now.
It would also ship with all the existing patches released by the company for the Vista operating system. This would make the lives of those people easier who reinstall the operating system from scratch.
Another good news is that the Vista SP1 is likely to be smaller in size. Close to around 50 Megs as per Microsoft statement.
