IBM launches Version 8 of Lotus Notes and Domino
IBM has finally launched the latest version of their Lotus Notes and Domino application suite.
The company said that this new release features an updated user interface and also comes loaded with new usability tools and capabilities.
IBM further stated that these changes were implemented as they developed the suite on top of the Eclipse-based rich client platform.
This release highlights the fact that the company wants to base their applications on a common platform so that components of any client application can be provisioned and managed centrally.
Barton Group analyst Karen Hobert spoke on this release: “It was a product that has been neglected for quite some time. Organizations who do have Notes mail can offer to their users an e-mail client that is on par with whatever else is out there.”
