AppleWorks dead as the company concentrates on iWork
Apple seems to have stopped offering their AppleWorks application suite. This comes just as they have launched the updated iWork.
The AppleWorks website is now being redirected to the Apple iWork section.
AppleWorks was one of the first office productivity suites to be launched in the market and came loaded with a word processor, spreadsheet, and database merged into a single program.
It was originally developed by Robert Lissner and released in 1984 by Apple for the Apple II family of computers.
The modern edition of this application was developed as ClarisWorks and was published by Claris.
The Apple iWork ‘08 now ships with Pages (Word Processor), Keynote (Presentation package) and Numbers (Spreadsheet).
