iWork ‘08 to include Numbers spreadsheet application
Apple has announced their updated productivity suite named iWork ‘08. This suite now comes with three applications Keynote, Pages, and the newly added Numbers.
It is available for $79 and is now shipping. The newly added Numbers is a spreadsheet application which has been designed in the style of Keynote and Pages.
Apple said that the Numbers application comes with interesting tools like intelligent tables. Users would be able to sort and filter tables by clicking on headers. It also support chart creation, image management, text labels, and the ability to add photos and diagrams.
The application also supports a flexible canvas feature which would let the user to put multiple sheets on a canvas and tie them together in formulas but not in formatting.
Another impressive feature is that the application would be able to import most Excel spreadsheet files.
Apple added that the Pages application would now support a word-processing mode in addition to a page-layout one. It would feature a contextual format bar and would come with 140 templates designed by Apple people.
