Dell now offering Ubuntu Linux machines in the European market
Dell recently surprised market analysts by offering Ubuntu Linux powered machines in the US market.
The company has now launched one desktop PC and a laptop preinstalled with the open-source OS in Europe.
This is a major step taken by Dell in the recent times as they aim to take back the number one slot from Hewlett Packard.
Dell is currently the second largest maker of personal computers in the world after HP.
Dell has also just acquired Zing Systems which specializes in making software for distributing and managing music on mobile devices.
This is a surprising acquisition from them considering they have closed down the division which made portable media players.
