VMWare Fusion for Mac released
VMWare has finally launched their much awaited Fusion application on the Mac platform. The virtualization software has been developed to allow Mac users to run Windows and other operating systems on the Mac.
The software has been priced competitively at USD $79.99. Interested customers can purchase it online.
The company is also providing a 30 day evaluation version for free on their website.
Incidentally, this is the first product of its kind from VMWare to be launched in the market.
This would challenge existing products from rival software maker Parallels which provides Parallels Desktop for Mac software.
Codeweavers’ CrossOver software is also a potential rival to VMWare Fusion.
The company claims that Fusion application supports more than 60 guest operating systems including Solaris, Linux versions and various versions of Windows.
It would however require an Intel-based Mac with 512MB RAM, 275MB hard disk space for installation and 1GB of space for each virtual machine, and Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later.
