Microsoft Windows Vista now cheaper in China
Microsoft has taken some bold steps by making their recently launched Windows Vista operating system cheaper in the Chinese market.
The company is hoping that by offering Vista for cheaper prices in China would boost the sales. China is one of the biggest pirate markets for software.
Microsoft has now cut the price of their Windows Vista Home Basic in China to 499 renminbi. This is a 67 percent reduction from 1,521 renminbi.
The Home Premium version of Vista is now 50% cheaper at 899 renminbi.
These prices are applicable starting this week and are much cheaper compared to prices in the US market.
The company said that they are also going to sell the other variant of Vista at lower prices. This would include their Business and Ultimate versions of Vista.
