FedEx Kinkos links to be removed from Adobe Acrobat
Software giant Adobe has announced that they are now going to update their Acrobat and Acrobat Reader applications to remove the links connecting the application to FedEx Kinkos service.
The company said that they have received complaints from other printing companies, who view the feature as steering business to FedEx Kinkos.
This feature is included in their Reader 8.1 and Acrobat 8.1 application through the File menu. The mechanism makes it easy for the user to send the documents to the service for printing over the internet.
The company said in a statement: “We are implementing these changes as quickly as we can. However, we need time to write and test the software.”
Adobe added that FedEx Kinkos would be free to distribute versions of the application with the links from their own website.
The company is also considering establishing a Print Advisory Council to work with third-party printers on software integration issues.
