DDH Software Releases its Acclaimed HanDBase(r) Relational Database for BlackBerry Smartphones
Wellington, FL July 18, 2007 - DDH Software, Inc. today announced that a version of its HanDBase(r) relational database application is now available for BlackBerry(r) smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM), including the popular BlackBerry(r) Pearl(tm) and BlackBerry(r) 8800 Series handsets.
The HanDBase platform allows users to create their own databases and download databases from others over the Internet. Select editions of HanDBase for BlackBerry smartphones even synchronize with corporate databases from Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, MySQL and other ODBC sources.
All versions of HanDBase for BlackBerry include the popular Windows(r) desktop version that enables users to create, import, and manage their information before transferring the data to their BlackBerry smartphone for anytime/anywhere access and data entry. Additionally each version ships with a two way synchronization conduit to synchronize changes made on both the desktop and BlackBerry smartphone. Multiple BlackBerry smartphones can share a single database, merging changes in one of several different configurations.
Since it was first introduced in 1998, HanDBase has enabled mobile device owners to take their most vital information with them while on-the-go, earning numerous awards along the way. HanDBase allows mobile device users to store volumes of data that can be easily viewed, edited, filtered, sorted, and searched whenever the data is needed. Now users of BlackBerry smartphones can create their own custom database programs for both personal and business purposes to help provide them with access to the information they need while mobile.
With the HanDBase Desktop application, users can design their own databases from scratch or start with one of the thousands of free applets available at ddhsoftware.com–all of which have been created and submitted by HanDBase users. Users can transfer the database to the handset for convenient access and data entry. Beyond its full-featured editing and design capabilities, HanDBase Desktop allows users to import files from CSV, and export files in Excel, Word, CSV, HTML or XML formats. Custom HTML-style report templates can be created and printed with custom views of database tables. The HanDBase Professional version adds the ability to sync and transfer to and from Microsoft Access. The HanDBase Enterprise version can sync to other ODBC-enabled database applications.
“With millions of active BlackBerry users worldwide and the platform’s growing popularity, more and more users have been asking for a version of HanDBase to run on BlackBerry smartphones,” said David Haupert, president of DDH Software. “We’re pleased to be able to deliver a great database solution for personal and corporate use.”
HanDBase for BlackBerry comes in three editions. HanDBase Plus includes the BlackBerry client, Windows Desktop and two way synchronization conduit and retails for US$29.99. HanDBase Professional adds an Access Synchronization conduit and sells for US$39.99. HanDBase Enterprise adds an ODBC Driver and an ODBC Synchronization conduit and sells for US$79.99. All three products are available at the company’s Web site, ddhsoftware.com, or through Handango.com. A time limited free trial version is also available.
