Kaspersky Lab suing Rising Technology for defamation
Security applications maker Kaspersky Lab has revealed that they have now filed a lawsuit against a Chinese software company named Rising Technology.
Kaspersky has filed this lawsuit claiming that the rival company made false claims about Kasperky’s products and business practices.
Maxim Mitrokhin, Kaspersky’s territory development manager in China confirmed in a mail that they filed the lawsuit in a Chinese court.
In their lawsuit, Kaspersky is accusing Risking of violating Chinese law by telling users that Kaspersky’s software could damage their computers.
Mitrokhin added in his statement: “We believe that such a massive libel campaign against our company was launched by Rising solely because of their concern about them losing market share in China and the rapid growth of our products’ sales.”
Mitrokhin further said that the lawsuit was filed last month in the Tianjin City No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court.
