Intel invests into Vmware

World’s largest maker of personal computer microprocessors Intel has acquired a stake in the VMware Inc.

Intel acquired this stake for about $219 million and they have also now received a seat on the board of the Silicon Valley software company.

Intel said in a statement that this investment is aimed to boost the adoption of VMware’s software technology on computers using Intel semiconductors.

This would further expand the strategic relationship between the two companies.

Microsoft is one of the rival companies of VMware when it comes to developing Virtualization software products but they are lagging in developing solutions.

However, things might change with Microsoft currently scheduled to release a major product next year.
