Microsoft to open a new development center in Vancouver

Software giant Microsoft has announced their decision to establish a software development center in Vancouver.

Opening this center would enable the company to employ skilled workers who have been snagged by the U.S. immigration quotas.

Market analysts have said that Canadian laws makes it easier for companies to get foreign nations to work for them.

Several companies have asked the US government to lift quotas on the number of visas the government issues to skilled professionals. But the lawmakers have consistently rejected the amendments to let this happen.

Microsoft stated in its statement that they expect to have the center in Canada working by the end of the year. And the company hopes that this Vancouver center will “allow the company to continue to recruit and retain highly skilled people affected by the immigration issues in the United States.”
