Opera Software board of directors has been reshuffled
Opera Software ASA has seen a major reshuffle in their boards of directors after a reported power struggle between board members and the company’s CEO Jon S. von Tetzchner.
Market sources say that five of the seven board members have been fired. This include the company’s chairman Nils A. Foldal.
This happened at the Opera’s shareholder’s meeting on Friday. The report has been confirmed by the company spokesperson Tor Odland.
The fired board members have been replaced by three new board members and the total number of board members is now reduced to five.
Norwegian business daily Dagens Naeringsliv added in a report that the shuffle took place after the ousted board members failed to remove Tetzchner as head of the company.
Tetzchner has been quoted as saying on these new developments in the company: “I feel that I have an important job for the company, shareholders and the board.”

It’s too bad that the former board never tried to fire the CEO, so everything except there being a new board (which the majority shareholders voted for, and only 0.16 per cent against) is a lie. The “power struggle” was the invention of an eager “journalist” who couldn’t resist making up a story.
thanks for the clarification!
