Mediaroom: Microsoft unveils Microsoft TV IPTV Edition replacement
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they are renaming their IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) software as Mediaroom now.
The application was called Microsoft TV IPTV Edition till now. The updated version Microsoft Mediaroom features new features including picture-in-picture capability, along with music and photo sharing within a home and digital video recording.
Microsoft is hoping to gain into this market by expanding the reach into the digital home. The aim is to help the customer by enabling him to get his various electronic devices to interact with each other.
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates had presented his vision of the future at the company’s digital home strategy at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
