Symantec releases a beta of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0

Security software maker Symantec has released a beta version of their upcoming product Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.

This software product was developed under the codename of Hamlet and combines several technologies developed and acquired by the company in the recent years.

Symantec added that Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 would replace their existing enterprise version, Symantec AntiVirus.

The beta release is available as a free download from their website and they aim to release the final version by September this year.

The company added that they have also decided to not charge more for this new product. Symantec said: “We believe the level of protection you should get for your money should be higher.”

Symantec has combined the technologies they gained from the acquisitions of Sygate, Whole Security and Veritas into this new product.
