Oracle expands the scope of their lawsuit against SAP
As per available information Oracle Corp. has expanded the scope of their recently filed lawsuit against rivals SAP.
The database company has now added copyright and breach-of-contract claims to its list of allegations against SAP AG.
Oracle further states: “This case is about corporate theft on a grand scale.” The company is now claiming that SAP violated their copyright by illegally downloading software and support documents by breaking the terms of use of Oracle’s Customer Connection support site.
SAP is expected to file their response to the claims made by Oracle by next month. SAP recently said in a statement: “At that time, SAP will set the record straight regarding Oracle’s allegations. SAP is eager to vigorously defend this case.”
Incidentally, the two companies have customers who use both their products. SAP seems to be in a mood to take on Oracle in the courts as the company’s CEO Henning Kagermann said in a statement: “We have no intention to settle; why should we? We don’t think anything is wrong in our company.”
