Mozilla releases Firefox 1.5.0.12 and 2.0.0.4

Mozilla Foundation has released their final version in the Mozilla Firefox 1.5 series. The latest updated release is the Firefox 1.5.0.12.

They also released the latest update in the Firefox 2 series, Firefox 2.0.0.4. This open source web browser is the second most popular product in its category after Internet Explorer. It is available on most platforms including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Mozilla Foundation said that Firefox 1.5.0.12 is expected to be the last of that line. It comes with fixes for several security flaws involving pop-ups, cookies, and memory-related crashes.

They are recommending all the users of Firefox 1.5 series to update their versions to the latest Firefox 2.0.0.4.

The foundation added in a statement: “Mozilla typically maintains support for previous releases for six months after a major release. Mozilla has previously extended the planned end of life for the 1.5.0.x series to accommodate some recent changes in update functionality.”
