Blogger now auto save posts while writing a blog post

Google has updated its Blogger editor to auto save blog posts while the blogger is writing it. Incidentally, WordPress had added this functionality in one of its recent major version.

A post on the Blogger Blog stated that the system has been designed to auto save the post every minute.

In case the user is typing in a lot of content, they would save the post as soon as the typing is paused.

This feature is very helpful in situations where the browser hangs or crashes which could result in lost data for the user.

Bloggers can also manually save the post which is being edited by pressing the Save Now button or using the Ctrl-S shortcut.

The blog post further stated the addition of some new keyboard shortcuts for the Blogger editor.

On top of this, we’re revamping the post editor’s keyboard shortcuts to make them a bit more sane. Now Ctrl-P publishes, Ctrl-S saves a draft, and Ctrl-D switches from published to draft. We moved Preview over to Ctrl-Shift-P.
