AOL to launch updated web mail service with integrated AOL Instant Messenger

US based internet company AOL has announced that they are soon going to introduce a new updated version of their AOL web mail service which would feature an integrated AOL Instant Messenger.

AOL also plans to refresh its Web portal and launch new ones in 14 countries over the next 18 months. The company recently launched their Indian portal AOL.IN.

The company is getting rid of their international ISP operations to concentrate on their web based services to generate revenues from online advertising.

They are currently scheduled to launch revamped version of AOL web portal in France, the UK and Germany and several other nations.

AOL CEO Randy Falco said in a statement: “I want to move as fast as we can. I thought we were a couple of generations behind our customers on a very important product.”

Falco added: “It may not hit you that year, but it ultimately will hit you. You’ll suffer from bad development and not having products in the pipeline.”
