Apple’s Podcasting Server for the education market
Apple Inc. has made available a Podcasting Server aimed at the education sector.
This service has been included in the Mac OS X Server v10.4. It has been designed to let the educators publish and syndicate online content.
The company said that this product is based on the Blojsom open-source weblog server project and includes Open Directory authentication and access controls.
Users would be able to grant publishing access to individual users or groups on their network. It also supports both both user and group blogs, and calendar-based navigation.
The server ships as an integrated service of Mac OS X Server v10.4. This Operating System is delivered with every Apple Xserve G. The company has also made available a Podcast Backbone Guide to help people use this feature.
