Mozilla testing Joey mobile web service

Opera already allow mobile users to access the web through their mobile devices by using Opera Mini application which fetches the pages from their own servers.

Mozilla has now launched a test service named Joey which allows the users to store online content on a remote server and access that information on cell phones.

The developers believe that this service would help the users save time and money when accessing online content.

They believe that users can utilize the service by syndicating any online information or view videos that they couldn’t otherwise see on mobile phones.

Users would be able to store the information from inside the Firefox web browser which is an open source product developed by Mozilla.

Joey service just requires a mobile phone with a browser and a data plan. The service is available on Firefox through an add-on.

This new functionality is being developed at the Mozilla Labs. They currently have no plans to make this an official product at the moment.
