More hardware companies to build hardware around Microsoft Windows Home Server
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they have signed on more vendors to build hardware for its forthcoming Windows Home Server.
Windows Home Server is the first such product from the company aimed at the home users. The new companies joining the program include Gateway Inc., French external storage maker LaCie Group SA and German consumer electronics company Medion AG.
World’s largest personal computer maker Hewlett Packard is already developing products on this new platform being introduced by the software giant.
Microsoft had introduced this new product at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. They also showcased HP’s MediaSmart Server as the first product that will be available for the OS.
Microsoft has made available the Windows Home Server in a beta version at the moment.
